Brewista coffee-making recipe
See our ten-step method for making the perfect Brewista coffee. This recipe is for 250ml of brew so make sure to double or triple up if you are making more than one cup!
- Preheat the Brewista by pouring hot water into it and allowing it to sit for a couple of minutes before emptying.
- Insert a paper filter
- Boil your water and allow it to cool for around 30 seconds so that the temperature drops to between 92°C and 96°C.
- Pour hot water around the paper filter to ensure that it is fully damp. Empty the residual water out of the Brewista.
- Place the Brewista onto your scales and tare it off.
- Add your ground Altura coffee to the paper filter — weighing out 15g. A coarse filter or plunger-grind works best for this method
- Tare off your scales and start slowly pouring your hot water onto the ground coffee making sure you only add enough to wet the grounds, leave to drip through. We call this pre-infusion.
- Once the pre-infusion is complete, continue to pour hot water onto the grounds evenly in a circular motion; you can stop mid-way and stir your hot water and coffee 4-5 times. Adding water in stages ensures an even extraction.
- When you have reached 250g on your scales, allow the brewing process to complete then lift the filter and dispose of the grounds.
- Enjoy
